Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of Sitter, a service operated by Grove Companies, LLC. By creating an account or using Sitter, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By using Sitter, you confirm you are an adult with the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If you don't agree, don't use Sitter.

Your account

You're responsible for providing accurate information, keeping it up to date, safeguarding your login, and for any activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Sitter to:

• send unsolicited or bulk messages, spam, or any content the recipient hasn't agreed to receive;
• harass, threaten, defame, or harm anyone, including the babysitters on your roster;
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation;
• engage in fraud or violate any applicable law;
• interfere with or disrupt the service, or access it using automated tools without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts we reasonably believe are in violation.

Babysitter roster and consent

Sitter is a tool for coordinating with babysitters you already know personally. By adding a babysitter to your roster, you represent and warrant that:

• you have a prior personal relationship with that person, and
• they have given you permission to send them event-related communications about babysitting through Sitter on your behalf.

You will not add anyone whose permission you do not have, or who has asked you not to contact them. Babysitters can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, after which Sitter will not message them again unless they reply START.

Payments between parents and sitters

Sitter does not process payments. Any pay rate displayed in a request is an estimate communicated between you and your sitter, and any actual payment is handled directly between the two of you, outside of Sitter.

No warranty

Sitter is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular babysitter will respond, accept, or fulfill a booking. Sitter is a coordination tool — you remain solely responsible for arranging childcare and for the conduct of the people you choose to entrust with your children.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grove Companies, LLC and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Sitter. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time by emailing hello@hellositter.app. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, or if we discontinue the service.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
